The traces of the performance exhibited in the garden of Frank Taal, Rotterdam
Frank Taal – honest language (series)
H(a)L in Frank Taal Galerie expo #2, Rotterdam
I invited the audience to write what they instantly perceived/felt in the exhibition in one word/term on fabric. Then I cut these words down and combined them into complete sentences. The result is the interpretation of the exhibition on that day.
Due to zero public performance experience, I didn’t know I should announce my performance; thus, I only drew a little attention from visitors. I kept murmuring in my mother language to withdraw from the embarrassment and nervousness. I used language to build a parallel world in which I was dominant to empower myself.
I was talking about how difficult for me to understand my ongoing behavior, performance art, and its relation to the audience.
